Session Learning Objectives

Those attending this session will receive information that should allow them to:

• Develop a differential diagnosis for undifferentiated reproductive-age patients presenting to the emergency department with abdominal pain, with particular attention to time-sensitive gynecologic and obstetric emergencies (e.g. ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy) that may mimic common medical conditions;
• Identify atypical or subtle presentations of obstetric complications that may be easily missed in the ED; and
• Describe ED management priorities and workflow challenges in OB/GYN emergencies, including adapting evaluation when exams are delayed by operational constraints
