Krystyn Kucharski, Krystyn Kucharski, PsyD, CDP
Dr. Krystyn Kucharski is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified dementia practitioner specializing in the practice of neuropsychology. Currently in the second year of her two-year postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Kucharski is deepening her expertise through clinical practice and patient-centered care.
Before coming to UNTHSC, Dr. Kucharski obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences at Divine Mercy University in Sterling, Virginia. Her dissertation explored the psychological underpinnings of relationship with God to reveal how a deeper understanding of the spiritual aspects of human experience can aid in the pursuit of psychological and overall wellbeing. This rich exploration has deeply informed Dr. Kucharski’s collaboration with patients – to develop meaningful recommendations and next steps with her patients that effect long-term change.
Dr. Kucharski moved to Fort Worth, Texas and completed a one-year predoctoral internship at John Peter Smith hospital where she acquired substantial experience in providing psychological and neuropsychological services to inpatient and outpatient populations. She enjoyed working with patients through Therapeutic Assessments, which married both of Dr. Kucharski’s passions – rich psychological and neuropsychological assessment with the collaborative teamwork of empowering change in her patients.
During her time with UNTHSC, Dr. Kucharski has enjoyed the opportunity to teach and share her experience with medical students as a group facilitator for the Clinical Communications courses, provide rich and meaningful care to her patients through clinical practice, and continue advancing the field of neuropsychology through research.
