Session Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to: 

  • Discuss ways the health care team can respect individual autonomy in the setting of limitations to capacity related to dementia. 
  • Examine risks related to persons living with dementia receiving unfair treatment (Justice). 
  • Review the principles of beneficence and non-maleficence in the setting of caring for persons living with dementia who have limited decision-making capacity.
