Chan Chuang, MD, was named Chief Clinical Officer of HealthCare Partners in June 2014. In this role, he focuses on driving improved clinical outcomes for the patients and communities that HealthCare Partners serves across the nation.
Dr. Chuang joined HealthCare Partners in 2002, and has held several leadership positions within the company including Lead Hospitalist, Associate Regional Medical Director and most recently, Corporate Medical Director. He has also served as Chief of the Department of Medicine and a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Chuang is board certified in internal medicine, critical care, and pulmonary disease. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency, chief residency, and fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Chuang is the recipient of several distinguished teaching awards, and holds a special interest in the care of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as well as population health.
