Marla McGhee, PhD

Dr. McGhee teaches in the Educational Leadership program at TCU where she helped to establish an innovative principal preparation program (Principal Leadership Fellows) with local public school districts. She is also the Director of TCU's Center for Public Education. Formerly, she taught at Lewis & Clark College
in Portland, Oregon and at Texas State University where she was also the co-director of the National Center for School Improvement.
In addition to her work promoting the instructional value of school librarians, library media centers, and information literacy, Marla’s research and publishing interests include instructional supervision and leadership, action research as a school improvement tool, campus leadership for literacy learning, and the role of
the contemporary school leader.

She holds two degrees from Texas Tech University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
