Virginia E. Watson, MD, MS is a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for medical school and The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston studying Immunology. She was elected into the AOA Medical Honor Society in 2002 and still actively tries to uphold those values of being “worthy to serve the suffering”. She trained in Family Medicine at John Peter Smith in Fort Worth and is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow in Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Watson has been practicing medicine since 2012 at JPS as a hospitalist and inpatient teaching attending. Her
professional interests include medical education, interprofessional education, hospital quality improvement, end-of-life
patient issues, access to health care in underserved populations and patient communication.

Dr. Watson’s personal interests include the studio arts, music and spending time with her family. She is a Girl Scout troop leader and enjoys the challenge of learning new skills and sharing new experiences.
