John C. Licciardone, DO, MS, MBA, FACPM, is Professor and Executive Director of the Osteopathic Research Center at UNTHSC-TCOM. Therein, he holds the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Richards-Cohen Distinguished Chair in Clinical Research. He served as consulting expert on osteopathy to the World Health Organization, and as expert panelist for the NIH Workshop on Deconstructing Back Pain. He is a recipient of the Louisa Burns Memorial Lecture Award, Gutensohn-Denslow Research Award, Benjamin Cohen Award for Outstanding Research Achievement, JO Watson Memorial Lecture Award, UNTHSC President’s Award for Research Excellence, Purdue Pharma Partners Against Pain Award, and George Northup Medical Writing Award. He served as Principal Investigator for the OSTEOPATHIC Trial. Dr. Licciardone is presently Principal Investigator for the Pain Registry for Epidemiological, Clinical, and Interventional Studies in North Texas (PRECISION TEXAS), which aims to enroll 1,000 patients with low back pain to learn more about effectively managing this condition in primary care settings using a variety of approaches, including precision medicine.
Dr. Licciardone received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed an Internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, a Residency in Family Medicine at Kennedy Memorial Hospital System in Saddle Brook, New Jersey and a Residency in Preventative Medicine at Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.
