Presentation Summary

Chronic pain afflicts more than 100 million Americans and exacts a substantial societal and economic burden in the United States. Low back pain is also the greatest cause of disability worldwide. The Precision Medicine Initiative was established in 2015 to help foster “big data” approaches to research involving clinical, biological, and genetic factors in patient-centered medical care. The PRECISION Pain Research Registry was subsequently established at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2016 to conduct research on the etiology and management of chronic pain. This presentation describes the initial findings and future directions of the PRECISION Pain Research Registry after its first two years of operation.
